The heat stove has been a part of automobile engines for decades. It's
purpose is to provide warmer air during cold weather and during engine
warm-up. It prevents engine stumbling during the warm up phase but plays no
particular role in reducing emissions. It in no way substitutes for exhaust
gas recirculation.
