One of the previous owners of my car had taken it through car washes with brushes. End result was a ton of swirl marks in the stainless that were very obvious when close up. It took me some time and patience to fix it up again with a scotch brite pad. I would recommend against brush and bristle. Also, some places still apply the wax even when you ask them not to. For this reason I also avoid car washes, and wash manually by hand. Hey...its me favorite toy!
