wacky indicators

Driving my D today I've noticed my indicators are
acting strangely.Sometimes they work,sometimes they
don't.They even come on on their own.The hazard lights
are also not working.Needless to say I want to fix
this ASAP.I was wondering could this be a bad flasher
unit?I also want to clean the earth for the indicator
circuit to see if that fixes it.Is it in that group of
earths near the front left wheel?
Any ideas welcome
