Pretty good advice overall, but I would not recommend removing weight from the suspension. This will damage the suspension bushings. Too much droop over time will separate the steel inner sleeve from the rubber bushing, destroying it. If flatspotting tires is the concern, buy some cheap tires and have them mounted up for storage only. If your current tires have less than half their tread left, leave them on and treat yourself to new ones when you get the car out of storage.
