Have to agree w/ David T on this. My sad experience (although it had a
happy ending) was that something got sucked against one of the screens
on the pickup, broke through, and totally stopped up my fuel system
(before the filter). Suspect it was a piece of deteriorated pump boot.
Don't know if mine representative, but remaining screens were so
brittle they crumbled between thumb & forefinger. Ultimately replaced
everything from filter forward -- a not too expensive procedure I'd
recommend to any owner (when I say everything, I mean everything --
including all tank components).
