RE: [DML] DMC Service Cat Replacement?

Hi Chris

I replaced my cat with Ed Uding's pipe this summer when I did my manifold
gaskets. The difference is very noticable (and I removed the cold air
intake valve too). My exhaust even pops and gurgles a little bit when hot
now showing how much more easily it is breathing (and that it probably
needs its mixture setting up again!).

It's not just the restrictin of the catalyst that causes loss of power -
the outlet port of the cat is surprisingly small too.

With the cat removed the engine has noticably more torque and the pick up
in 3rd at 50mph is a lot of fun. This car will never be great from a
standing start with the stock ratios, but midrange is definitely improved.

NB removing the cat would be illegal in many US states. Here in the UK the
car's too old to have required a cat when manufactured, so it can be
removed and still pass the MOT test.

Has anybody tried this pipe to replace the cat on their DeLorean?
