I would say the problem is not in the antenna, but in the sensitivity of the radio. Meaning how sensitivity it is on picking up the signal. If the signal input of the radio doesn't have low input sensitivity, then you will have to have a better antenna to over come it. This is one reason you have a distance and local button.
