Front fender number?

DMLers,

I was recently in USA looking at the progress of my Hong Kong car's
refurbishment. As the s/s skin is now off I noticed on the front (US
passenger's side) fibreglass fender 4" high numbers stuck on. Is this common
on all the cars. My vin is 780, which is the number on the fibreglass
fender.

I have a jpeg photo if you want to see what I'm talking about.
