auto tranny problem

Hi Group,
Theres a DeLorean being auctioned here in
Sydney which I'm intrested in.When I went out for a
spin in it on the weekend it seems the transmission
wouldn't downshift to first gear, but after about 15
mins when the car had warmed up the problem seemed to
go away.Is this likely a computer governer issue or
something else?Please forgive my ignorance,but I don't
know much about automatic transmissions.
