Techinicaly you are correct, the losses are to the personal retirement
accounts not the "pensions". To most people's minds they are similar
enough that they use the terms interchangeably. The REAL result is now
these employees will have less to retire on because the stock they
bought and could not sell or trade is worthless. The real injustice is
many of the executives were able to dump their stock before the end
and even made money on it before it tumbled.
