Believe it or not....Duck tape goes a long way. You can temporarily
repair a leaky water hose (tape it tight and don't skimp) to get you
to a shop. A set of screw drivers (philips and flat head) and an
emergency repair belt. The belt is a straight piece of belt with an
adjustable clamp on it. Perfect for if the belt to your
alternator/water pump snaps. Just wrap the belt around the pulley,
tension it up with the bracket and tighten it. No need to loosen the
alternator and moving it to get the new on eon. When you get
home/shop, then you can put a permanent one on. And also a very small
metric socket set. All of the things mentioned are very basic....you
don't need to carry spare belts, fuel pumps, fuel filters, etc. since
any shop you have to bring your D too can readily get them themselves
from any auto parts store. You don't need to carry an auto parts
store in your car because A. you are not going to perform major
repairs on the side of the road and B. The shop can get the parts
with no problem.
