The Vehicle Identification number
SCEDT26T7BD000500,
The first character is the country code. In the case of British
manufactured cars such as, Lotus, TVR, MG, Rolls Royce, Jaguar, DeLorean,
etc., etc., this is indicated by an "S"
As for whether or not if the DMC was made in the United States at the
time is questionable.
DeLorean commented that the automotive press was not very happy with the
majority of American made cars, or manufactures 20-25 years ago.
The innovations that the Japanese manufactures achieved were hailed by
the auto magazines shortly after the DeLorean saga in the early 1980s.
Maybe the DeLorean should have been built in Japan.
