What do you mean by a Hollow plug? Is it a hole? If it is just a hole 
it's suppose to be plugged up otherwise you will have a major vacuum 
leak. If it's just a hole you'll need to plug it, this is the access 
to the CO set screw inside the metering unit. If you lost the plug to 
it, I have heard of a few people using golf "T's" in it's place.
