Turn signals

Recently the left front turn signal stopped working and the left rear 
started flashing in double time which from my experience is normal 
with one bulb out. When the front bulb was replaced it works but the 
turn signals still flash in double time. Next thought was the 
signal/flasher unit going bad. It does however flash the hazard 
signal at a normal speed. Any ideas anyone?
