On the center console, in front of your shifter/gear selector is the 
rheostat to control the brightness of the binnacle lights. Try 
rotating the knob to see if that will brighten the lights. If not, 
you might have a bad dimmer switch.

Since I always keep the lamps at their brightest, I bypassed the 
dimmer, and hard wired everything together. While the lights are not 
blinding, the are brighter, and much clearer.
