I had a similar problem. It is highly likely that they're off the 
track. Also, in my case my window was having trouble because the 
regulator bracket was snapped. I managed to have a friend weld the 
bracked back together and it works fine now. I found it fairly easy 
to open up the door and figure out how the windows work. Pretty 
simple mechanism. Let me know if you have more questions.
