Re: [DML] Re: OEM tire jack

I reccomend cutting a circular piece of 3/4" ply and putting it under the spare tire. I have one under the spare in each of my cars in case I have to change a flat on a soft shoulder. (previous soft shoulder experience.) I have mine pretapped with holes so I can attach the jack to the stabilizer wood with a eye bolt and wing nut. It's not rated to hold the jack up totally but it's better then nothing.

my .02 worth
cheers,
dr c.

Claude, The oem jack seems to be adequate for the emergency changes,
but that's about it. Never trust getting under the car with it.
You might even want to carry around a couple of 1x4x12" for a better
footing incase your ever on the side of the road in soft ground. This
has happened to me and I couldn't jack up the car.
