This is not true in New Jersey. Your liability rate changes with the car you drive, based on the statistics that have been collected on they model car. In New Jersey, they go as far to include options on the car in the equation. IMHO, this is "stereotyping" and should be just as illegal as if they charged you a insurance rate based on your race, religion, or color!
