Just remove the old sending unit and screw in a new one.
Which one is leaking? (The D has 2 of them. One for the idiot light, which
is on the driver's side of the motor, and another for the gauge on the pax
side by the oil filter.)
If it's the one for the gauge, mounted on the passenger side of the motor
by the oil filter, then you may want to consider a sending unit that one of
our club members is selling. It is an exact replacement, except that your
gauge will be calibrated correctly. DMC used a Volvo sending unit that was
not the correct one for the gauge that was used. It usually pegs itself all
the way straight up at 80psi. The replacement sending unit has the correct
range of motion for the normal low pressure at idle to the much higher
pressure at cruising speeds.
Check the club web site at: http://www.midstatedmc.com/ under the
"Parts" section for more details.
