What is the amount of milage you can expect from a well taken care of 5
speed delorean?<

Corry - the lambda counter is located under the dashboard in the
driver's side footwell on the firewall behind the brake pedal. The
counter is attached to the speedometer cable and can be thought
of as a "second odometer". It is calibrated to show the percentage
of 30,000 miles that have been travelled. 30,000 miles is the average
life of the O2 sensor. When the counter reaches 100, it
turns on the lambda sensor on the dashboard as an indication that
the O2 sensor needs to be replaced. The counter should never be
off by more than 5% or so from the mileage on the odometer. For
example, if the counter shows 020, the odometer should show
20% of 30,000 miles or 6000 miles if the odometer is under 30,000,
36,000 miles if the mileage is under 60,000, and 66,000 miles if
the mileage is under 90,000. The counter is reset by turning
a small white disk on the side of the counter, and is normally done
when the O2 sensor is replaced.
