I remember at one time hearing that an electrical surge could fry the auto 
trans computer, and that this is possibly a cause for so many of them going 
bad, even though their useable life has not expired (somewhere around 30,000 
miles?). Since the car does not have much mileage, this is probably the 
culprit to your dead computer, assuming this is the correct diagnosis? 
Please correct me if I am wrong, I don't want to throw out poor information 
here. :)
