[DML] Re: Un-Torsion Bar



Michael,

We have concensus, you have a shattered torsion bar. New ones are about
$400 from Your Friendly Neighborhood Delorean Parts Supplier.

The tough part is the install, as Burke mentioned. You have to torque the
bar to attach it to the door, which is a complex and potentially dangerous
procedure. Dangerous for the rear window, that is. You'd also need to
remove the stainless roof panel. I'd tackle such a job if I had help, and a
few beers for courage. There was some info in the archives about it, and
one of the DML members keeps info on it at his web site:

Regardless of what you decide, I'd be fascinated to see photos of your
now-destroyed torsion bar, since I've never seen one in such a state (and
