Stian and Chip!

Being a german fellow, I can say that both of you are right! The german text
of the song can be interpreted in different ways. The reason for this is
that the german words for "have" and "hate" are pronounced identical and
written nearly identical: "hast" and "hasst". I believe the authors of this
song intended to leave the listener in this kind of uncertainity.
The english version of this song is obviously not the exact translation of
the german version.
