[DML] How to lower?

Hi, what is the common method for lowering the front end back to
factory specs? I have heard of people purchasing new front springs, and
some cutting the existing ones. Where can they be bought? Also, is it
safe to have the springs cut? Are there any drawbacks to just cutting
the springs? How is it done?
