To the list, It was not me that wrote this.(see below) In my post I mentioned, that basically a dash cover of any type or style will damage your dash over time. I will say that the dash cover that I was using was light gray in color not black....so this fact shoots the theory down, that a black dash cover will damage the dash and a light in color one will not. I will state again that the vinyl that was used for the Delorean dash has to breath to retain it's color. If your dash is already damaged, be it cracks or by sun damage, then yes the dash cover is a great way to cover these problems. But if you have a good dash, don't use a dash cover, because you will not have a good dash for long. It's those cloth covers that cover the dash. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any place or company that made one that custom fix the Delorean dash? If so, where could I get one at and how about how much are them? A little preventative medicine can't hurt, my dash is 'perfect' and I just don't want any cracks or anything to happen to it. thanks in advance !! >> If you intent to use a "Carpet style" dash mat,for Dash protection if it comes Black Tint it WHITE,the last thing you want is a black carpet sitting on your dash sucking up the UV rays and heat, the white will reflect the uv rays, those guys that supply fuel for our Deloreans don't wear white towels on their heads(ie dash mats for your heads) learned a long time ago not to put Black towels on their heads for sun protection.
