[DML] Engine Bay Cover

Hi,
After working on cleaning my engine bay yesterday, I was wondering if anyone 
had found a better way of holding open the engine bay cover, the original 
bracket is not the best, as the knock on the back of my head will contest to.

I thought it might be possible to fit a couple of gas struts (perhaps taken 
from a conventional hatchback) and would be interested to hear if anyone had 
tried this.

p.s. I took my car for its first drive out in public yesterday afternoon and 
I caused quite a stir when I stopped outside the bank ATM machine.
