Stian, The D.O.T. (government agency that establishes ground vehicle lighting standards in the USA) requires the following: All passenger cars must have 2 front and 2 rear corner mounted parking lights, amber in front and red at the rear. They must operate independently of the headlights and with the headlights. These lights can also double as directional signals. Four corner side mounted marker lights are required, amber front red rear. They may also double as directional signals but are not required to do so. The marker lights are generally wired across the same circuit as the parking lights.
