[DML] Radiator question

I am currently going thru the archives, but havent found what i need to
know yet. 

Last night when I arrived at home, I noticed a *hissing sound comming
from the front of the car. Not the tire so I will have to think it is
comming from the cooling system....I will of course try to get this
checked out ASAP.

My question is how much coolant should I see when I look into the
"header" bottle located in the engine compartment. The original one
has been replaced with the stainless steel model and when I looked
inside there was barely any visible. Should I go ahead and add
some....and can you add just water or do i need to add a 50%-50% mix of
water/antifreeze.

Oh the engine temp is normal..
