[DML] fuel leak

In not very technical but here goes...bear with me:
when I was changing my sparkplugs I moved the thing around that is on
top of the hardest sparkplug to change. That thing has a tube that
goes down and into the middle of the engine. I moved that around quite
a bit and I was wondering if that caused the fuel to spray. I probably
didnt make any sense, but hopefully someone out there understood. 
any answers would be great.

p.s
i dont know if it is my hoses since the fuel was coming from between
the distributor and what evers underneath that.
