Chester try tying the cable into a loop to form a sort of handle it isnt easy cause in order to do that you have to stretch the outer cable which has the PVC coating which is fixed under the Hood. Then by carefully kneeling in the correct position and tuging on the cable at right angles to the car and lifting the hood with your other hand you will just manage to pull the catch enough to release the hood....... Hey ive been there!! Once open you can temporaryily breath a sigh of relief and put the can opener away. What to do next think yourself lucky and order a new cable from DMC Houston or other approved stockist of such fine gear. i was told that there is a boot under the front drivers side wheel arch which if you remove the wheel you may be able to gain access to the hood...even if you could get your hand through it you have to figure out how to peel back the carpet and other fine stuff you may have there also to get to the latch which is located just off centre and works by the cable pulling on a spring in the oppostie direction in order to affect the release. Other suggestiongs put to me at the time were try bending a wire coathanger and pulling back on it from the passenger side....yeah right i honestly wish you the very best of luck John Hanley Vin 16369 p.s isnt the truck in the rear as in engine compartment and the hood up front???? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address moderator@xxxx
