I may be wrong but what makes everyone think they would have to pay royalties 
for showing automotive logos in a movie. Every year thousands of cars show up 
in movies and television, all of them fully dressed in company logos. I doubt 
there are any royalties paid on these.

P.S. The DeLoreans used in "Back To The Future" and "Matlock" all displayed 
their logos. I think the DMC emblem is missing in "The Wedding Singer" for a 
different reason.
