Dear List, Okay, here's my latest...When I start my DeLorean after its been sitting for awhile, it will idle extremely rough and at down around 500 RPMs. The engine will not respond to any changes in the position of the throttle until about 5 minutes after its been running, and when it finally does respond I get this weird popping noise that sounds like it's coming from inside the engine. After the car has been running for about fifteen minutes, it will calm down and behave semi normally, except then I have a serious loss of power. It will also run hot at around 220 degrees according to the temperature gauge. I've bled and refilled the coolant to resolve the temperature problem, but that hasn't helped. I've also noticed absolutely no leaks in the system. I might have found the solution, but I wanted to check it with the experts before I go poking around in unfamiliar territory. Apparently the last owner of my car had fuel mixture problems a lot. The threaded hole where the fuel mixture adjustment screw used to be is stripped and instead of a screw, someone has stuck the top of a golf tee in it. Now I'm not saying this wouldn't work, but I'm fairly sure there is a better way to plug that particular hole. If I go messing with this tee (which is jammed in pretty tight) I'm afraid I might break it off, but if I don't mess with it I may never solve my idling problem. The other thing I was thinking it might be is the cold start valve, but that appears to be in working order. Any help would be very, VERY useful!
