[DML] Wide stripe option?

Dear DML,
I am curious about the wide black stripe option. I had heard a long 
time ago from somewhere that it was only an option on the '81 cars. Can 
anyone confirm this or am I just wrong? I have also heard of a possible 
option for a thin light grey stripe and still cannot find a pic of a D with 
that on it. Is this a myth, anyone?
