Looks like I was missing those 3 screws COMPLETELY, and the reluctor wasn't even aligned with the holes! Rotating the reluctor to align with the holes actually fixed the air-gap problem, and now my 3 points are all within .025mm. I know that the previous owner had replaced the impulse coil, but he must have forgotten these.
