I would not recommend using "hot glue" anywhere inside a car. I know
someone who's wife fixed some broken trim on the inside of his car
(not a DMC) and it worked until the first hot summer day when
everything fell off. Hot glue's melting point is within the range
obtainable inside a car on a hot day.
Epoxy or other glue would be fine, as long as you never plan on
taking it apart again.
