Bob,
Why would turning on your fans make a difference? You thermostat will still
be closed. Besides, turning on the fans only makes the car cooler (???)
I don't have any of the problems you listed. You might want to take a look
at the thermostat (warm-up issue), and cold start valve (slow-start issue).
Also, what kind of tires are you running? I've got the Pilots on my car and
they're fantastic in the rain. I agree with you about sparing the car,
though. I've slowly learned to calm the DeLorean "fever" on those
bad-weather days too. :-)
