[DML] Glue/cement for window trim

I bought new NOS fuzzy strips for both windosw from DMCH.  I was leery about them being 20 years old and sure enough.....after installing them both sides came undone after 1 day.    There was a post not to long ago with the same issue with the NOS fuzzy strips.  The gentleman had decided that he would re-glue them prior to installation as he wasn't so sure.    I didn't want to take the time to do it so I installed mine...I wish I had.

I have followed his lead and removed them and carefully....with a razor blade removed the remainder of the fuzzy strip stil glued on.  I flipped the rubber strip over to give a a good clean surface and used 3M Black Super Adhesive.   I set the fuzzy strip on the glue and positioned it correctly and let it dry.....perfect!  They are now back in the car, glued strong and working great.

I would highly suggest that if you do buy the replacement fuzzy strip from DMC that you re-glue it, even if it looks like it has a good bond.  Being a 20+ year old part don't expect it to have the holding power it should.   I hope my waste of time will educate those looking to fix their fuzzy strips.    I would still recommend getting the DMC replacements BUT don't install them without first re-glueing.
