I've see only one that was clearcoated. I believe it was in the Crawford museum. I do remember that the finish was not uniform - in that it had hazy areas. The initial problem I see with clearcoating is that you would not have a primer to bond to the metal. Here is a product that uses shading and clearcoating on stainless. http://casketxpress.com/show/Stainless+Steel.html Gary IN2TIME -----Original Message----- From: Video Bob [mailto:videobob@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Saturday, August 14, 2004 11:12 PM To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: [DML] car cleaning Has anyone ever shined the car up, and had the panel CLEAR-COATED? What was the result? I was thinking that this might be a good idea, it would retain the last shine you put on in and would look wet all the time and could be buffed. (I THINK). Is this possible? - VB To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
