Hi Martin,

I used Knut's "Find DMC Part" program and it gave me a cross-reference
to a Volvo 1259615-1 and picked one up a a local auto supply store. 
Comparing it to the original one, the SAE numbers are identical, as
are the values next to each of the pins where it plugs in.  Also, I
meant that the actual bulbs light up (but only if the headlights are
on).  They just don't flash.  The rear ones don't work at all but the
bulbs are fine.  The indicators on the dash are completely dead. 
Moving the lever either way doesn't do anything.  I'll probably just
order the proper module from the vendors anyway, but I think the
problem is with something else.  There's a large black resistor near
where the flasher relay plugs in and I'm wondering if it's blown. 
Can't tell what rating it is because the numbers on it are rubbed off.

Of course, I could have avoided all this if only I had remembered to
take the battery back out of the car again before putting things back
together.  Another lesson learned the hard way, I guess.
