[DML] Re: electrical short

Sometimes it takes running your hand over every inch of the wiring
harness to feel where the tape and insulation has been worn through.
It is easier if you can remove the harness because it is always on the
backside where you cannot easily see the damage. The previous pump
caused the #7 fuse to melt out of the fuseblock. Now that you replaced
the pump you have to deal with the damage the old one caused. You
cannot just replace the fuse. You should cut the wiring back to a
point that was not overheated, add what wire you have to, and use new
connectors for the fuse. If you cannot salvage the fuseblock I have
seen many cars where they added an in-line fuse holder to replace a
burnt out #7. The #7 circuit is a heavy draw even when all the
connections are good and the pump is running OK. With bad (burnt)
connections you could be drawing too much even with the new pump.
