Did you buy an automatic or manual?  The automatic feels much slower than a 
manual, at least in my opinion.  judging by all the stupid stuff a pervious 
owner put on the car, it sounds like you will be needing some quality time with 
the engine controls, fuel system, ignition system, etc.  it's probably not 
running right either.
