Hey guys,
You see it's stuff like that (i.e. shops not
wanting to work on it, expensive service, etc.) that
make me want to put a different more available engine
in my D like the 1.9. Again with turbos, performance
parts, and so on. I am not a backyard mechanic, (all
though I will be starting on my A.S.E. certification
this fall), and the money that I put in for conversion
will be more up front, and less later in expensive
service, etc. It is possible to do it. I doubt we've
come so little in automotive technology to do it. :)
Plus, I will obviously have it professionally done.
I'm thinking about the shop on TLC's "Rides" program.
Just wish I could remember their name! :P A tricked
out 1.9 L Ford can get as much power if not more than
the PRV. I guess that my big thing is that if I get
the PRV with no shop willing/available to work on it,
despite my having the DMC shop manual, then when it
comes to the engine, I'm f---ed. Plus, I live in Salt
Lake City, and there aren't exactly a lot of, shall we
say, people who know about the PRV. Just stuff like
that. I'll shut up now. :P
Signed,
George DeLorean
