it is interesting what you say about state farm. they insured my car with no questions asked. rates are good and they have always been helpful. my family has 7 cars through them. in my recent accident in my car I was hit by an allstate customer. allstate gave me nothing but trouble. the driver took full responsibility at the scene and allstate said they would only take 80% fault. we had them call the cop and then they took full responsibility. it took 2 and 1/2 months for them to allow the shop to start working on the car (hit nov 15). I just went to pick up the car today (it'll have to go back due to a few minor items). allstate now doesn't want to pay for the last few days of the rental (we gave the rental back a few weeks ago). State farm has always been good to us and I do recommend them. I think that maybe the issues are with the local agent not the company? It's their loss, not yours. We moved our 6 cars (2 of which are classic), boat, RV, and 3 classic Harleys to Allstate from State Farm when they refused to insure my DeLorean. They lost a big policy with us. Allstate didn't hesitate one bit insuring my DeLorean, and we had no problems dealing with them when my DeLorean was totalled by a drunk who hit me. If you drive your car a lot like I do, you may want to consider Allstate. Unlike many of the classic car insurance companies, I can drive my car as much as I want, and it doesn't have to be garaged. You don't have to feel trapped when shopping for insurance for your DeLorean... there are plenty of companies who will insure your car no questions asked, and have policies tailored to your specific needs.
