[DML] What is BEST cleaning method for Stainless?

I have heard 100 different do's and don't's for the cleaning of the 
stainless steel. Some people will swear by a certain method and some 
will say never do that for that same method. I would like to clean 
and also get small scratches out of my car. There probably will not 
be a single method that everybody uses, but I want to hear what you 
use and most importantly why??? Thanks for all the input.
