[DML] Manual Transmission

While I was doing other work on my car, it was noticed that I have black 
silicone sealant on the bottom seam of the transmission. Should I worry? 
I know my manual trans had automatic fluid in it instead of gear oil 
also. Wanted to get the opinion of the community.
