Subject: DeLorean Car Show Update
Well the web page has been updated again and there are some new and
exciting
things on the web page. www.deloreancarshow.com
The video list keeps on growing and we have added 13 more videos.
Finally (thanks AZ group) we have the group from out west with my good
freinds from AZ who have become like a second family to me since I have
been working
in AZ for the past two years.
Go to the video links at see who's coming to Pigoen Forge
Next I have added a section on Joe Charter and DeLorean
Look for
DeLorean
not the man
not the car
the song
On the home page and click it
There is a nice section there on Joe and his music
He will be performing live at Pigeon Forge so check him out
We have a mpg file so you can hear the song DELOREAN
Our good friends at Rainforest Adventures have also been added to the
links
page and I encourage you to check them out both on the Web Page and in
Pigeon
Forge.
This is truely an unique animal experience.
DELOREAN CAR SHOW LOGO www.deloreancarshow.com
We have a new logo for the car show that will be used on the T-shirts,
awards
and anywhere else we can put it.
Feel free to add this to your web page. It can be found on most pages of
the
web page.
MAGAZINE
Last but certainly not least is a sneak preview of the next issue of the
magazine. Well the cover at least. It is taken in the mountains of
Italy. So
check it out. We have a number of articles of interest including the
rebuilding
of the mode switch that was just added.
Get your subscriptions in today.
A lot has been happening for the show and we are getting ready to put to
gether the registration materials for you.
There has been problems getting the visa running but we should be ready to
go
in a few weeks. Also a new feature will be the DeLorean Car Show Store
where
you can buy car show memorialbelia and other items for sale. The T-shirts
will be available for sale prior to the show as well. Many of you that
have
been to the local shows I have been to recently have them already.
Well this is a lot of informaton here to go over so I think I will stop
here
and save the rest for later.
Again thanks to Gary Hull, Shannon Yokum and Josh Haldeman for all the
help
and of course all of you on the videos. Without help and support there
would
be no show.

Subject: Ground Testing of the Idle Speed Micro Switch
The "condition" you described is the fact that the idle speed microswitch
does indeed open and close but when fully connected the black with green
stripe
wire seems to always be grounded. This is the same in my case and I
believe is
proper but may be confusing. If you look at the wiring diagram you'll
notice
that the black with green wire is directly connected to a capacitor AND to
the vacuum solenoid. The other side of the vacuum solenoid is connected
to fuse
number 1, along with the fuel pump, RPM relay, Idle Speed ECU and the
ignition ECU. These all provide a path to ground that makes you think the
idle speed
switch is not working when you check continuity with the engine off. The
better way to test it is put a volt meter across the idle speed switch.
With the
ignition switch ON but the engine not running (for safety) you should
measure
0 volts at throttle closed, ie idle and about 12 volts when the throttle
is
opened and the switch opens. You should also be able to hear the vacuum
solenoid click, ie switch when you open the throttle. Unplugging the
vacuum solenoid
allows you to check the switch using the continuity method because it
isolated the switch from those other circuits. Let me know.
Thank you,
Dave & 6530
ps Please take a look at my invention at www.tvpedaler.com and let me know
what you think.

I know of one car where the owner claimed over 500K.

Guys,
I read that there is/was a gold DeLorean in a museum in Maryland.
Is it still there or was it sold? I read so much lore that I can't
keep it all straight. Where in Maryland is it?
Since I live in Maryland, I don't see how I could be a true DeLorean
owner without making such a short pilgrimage to see this car if it is
accessible in a museum.
I always did like that saddle brown interior...

List,
i have checked voltage across my idle speed switch and i only get about
7.8
volts when the car is at idle, and zero when the throttle is open. surely
this
is not enough juice to make the solenoid work? i also checked voltage at
the
pin giving power to the black/green wire (pin 8) on the idle speed ECU -
it
only reads about 8 volts. the pin that gives power to the ECU reads 11.9
volts. it seems as though somewhere i am losing juice inside the idle
ECU. it
should also be of note that when the car is in the ON position, my idle
speed
motor hums. perhaps there is a link between the two? or is my idle ECU
fried?

The "last" delorean was gold. This car was in
Cleveland a few years back, right next to the first
car. The owner lives in MD, so maybe he has it on
display in a local museum?
