How did you connect the servo to the throttle cable. How did you deal
with
the throttle cable slack when the cruise control was active.

Pulse generation comes from the included CCS-203 magnet kit mounted on the
left inboard cv joint housing.

I have PPM set to 2,000 (sw1 off, sw2 off )

Speed Signal with the magnet kit is VSS&Tach (sw3 on)

Servo is mounted on the left side engine compartmnet using one of the
existing 6mm studs you'll find there.

Sensitivity is set to low (sw4 on, sw5 off), but I have EFI and custom
intake. You'll know if you have to change it.

Control switch is norm open (sw6 off )
Tach select is "coil" (sw7 on)

I thought gizo on speedo cable was a pulse generator (has 12v in just
like a transducer). Called it "Lambda counter" in earlier post because
I seem to remember once seeing it ID'd as such somewhere. Wiring
diagram calls "service interval counter." Now that I study diagram,
can't figure out what the thing's function is. If diagram correct,
other end is an idiot light. Does speedo cable trigger a reed switch
or something similar inside (if so, couldn't it function as a pulse
generator)?

Re: cable attachment to throttle spool -- am considering approaching
from driver's side and piggy backing to pedal cable. Manually opening
throttle plates WOT doesn't create enough slack (on my car at least)
for the cable to come off, especially since part of it will be held to
spool by tension of cruise cable. Cruise shouldn't be WOT anyway.

If worse comes to worse, Audiovox did give me some magnets...

John,
That is true, but you have to know where to get parts and be willing to
buy
them wherever. The biggest problem is drives and solenoids' and there is
no
sub for them. I have ample supply of both that I bought 3 or 4 years ago,
so
when we rebuild it gets new parts. We can also rewind solenoids which some

people won't do. The moral of the story is don't throw away the old parts,

I'll take the old ones and recycle them.
Just like water pumps, I have ample supply of new water pumps which some
people don't and they just want to rebuild them which in most cases is OK.

There isn't much to them.
Anyway just my 2 cents.

length about it with Warren at DMC (Texas). He said
that many of the internal parts in the starter are
non-existent, and anyone who says they rebuild them
are only disassembling and cleaning them up. ----<snip>

Hello List,

I have this sticker in the drivers door of my car
and was wondering, if somebody could help me.

The sticker says :

Delorean Motor Club of America
Service Parts Detailing
Huntington Beach, CA 92647

Are there any former members of that club in this list ?
Maybe somebody could tell me who the former owner of my
car was or who bought it. Would be interesting to know
more about the history of my beloved VIN 6548.

Any help is appreciated

Elvis

The sole purpose of the lambda counter is to light the idiot light on
the dash every 30,000 miles to remind the owner to have the car
serviced to replace the lambda sensor (and other 30,000 mile service
like tune-up ,etc). It only changes state every 30,000 miles and
needs a manual reset to arm it again after it has tripped. It is not
directly useful in determining vehicle velocity as you would need for
a cruise control pulse generator.

It is read as a percent. 100 = 30000 - or so. It is not that
accurate.

The previous owner of my Delorean replaced the water pump
with a Volvo part. It appears the pully will not go far enough on
the shaft to line up with crankshaft and alternator. Anyone know if
this should have worked or what the correct replacement part
would be?

Take a look at
http://www.dmcnews.com/Techsection/waterpumpDMC3.html
This shows how it all should line up. This is what it should look like
with
the so-called Volvo pump. There are two kinds of
Volvo pump, if the one you have has a flange with 4 screws you need a
custom
pulley sold by the vendors.

There is a DeLorean for sale in Mobile.

I saw a TV ad for it.

Someone from Pensacola was interested and asked me for the location and
phone number.

I must have deleted his email, because I could not find it.

I do not know any details about this vehicle, just the name and phone
number
of the used car dealer.
