Just checked out the new magazine review at BTTF.com.
I have 2 questions:

1. Who's the girl on the cover?

2. Is a "DCS Swimsuit Issue" planned? a calendar?
(Come on Ken, work with me here.) wink wink ; )

Keep up the good work Ken, I'll be buying!

OK
Today a lot of stuff is happening so here is one for you Memphis attendees
or
those interested in what happened in Memphis.

The panaramic shot taken by St Johns is now on the web page

Go to the home page deloreancarshow.com and go to the left side.

Click on Memphis

Then when on the Memphis page do the same and click on Panaramic shot and
ENJOY.

I understand there are still 10 copies left last time I checked.

Ken

Okay well unfortunatly after much debate... (drum roll)
1697 will not be parted out my me!

(various "boo"s and "yay"s from the audience)

It will be sold whole to Mr Eric Geerdink ("yay" from the audience)
for a whomping 4 grand.
Quick and easy and beneficial for both parties.

If you was to bug him for parts, feel free ("boo" from Eric)! :)

On another note I am headed down to Missouri to inspect and hopefully
purchase vin004009 on wednesday. (big "yay" from the audience)

Wish me luck,
James LaLonde 1697 (for now)

Gold Sunstar models are not due to arrive in the states now until December
1.
My contact at Sunstar says the work stoppage on the west coast ports is
partially to blame. I expect they will be in our hands around the 7th of
December and they will ship out that same day from us.

Well I found out, its not too difficult.
1.) First Pop off the Mr. Fusion with a thin screwdriver where the
tabs
hold it on.
2.) Next unscrew the screw under where the Mr. Fusion was.
3.) Note: Some of the coils and details are glued together, so you
may
snap the glue bonds, its okay, they still stay on the car.
4.) Unscrew the bottom of the DeLorean, and the rest is just like the

sunstar adjustments by tightening the screws holding the T-shaped bar on
the
inside of the roof.
I may have left off a step or two, but after you get the Mr.
Fusion
off and get that screw off, you can figure it out from there.

Good Luck!

I recently received this email from Dave at diecastmuscle.com:

I will check with Sunstar about the status fo the Gold Car. Usually
what happens
is they will say they are available, but in fact they are on a boat
in transit from China.
That is a 3 week trip in good times. Times are not good now with the
longshoremen
situation on the west coast. That is slowing incoming shipments
severely. -Dave

According to the Sunstar website, the car is released and available,
which probably means it is in transit! Here's hoping!

Cheers,
Alex

Hi Ken,
Sign me up!
On a side note, I was a the movies watching the new Bond flick, and
in the previews before hand there was an ad for Subaru. Guess who
was in it? Our very own Elvis from Memphis! Ryan is his name? Yup,
he was there. Anyway, take care. I look forward to seeing the first
magazine. I'll sign up immediately if you let me.
Thanks Ken,
Erik

Hi DMLers,

Can anyone help me? I'm looking for a photo of me driving my DeLorean
around
the Test-Track in Belfast last year. Can anyone who was there look through
their photos and see if they have captured reg. ANZ 2047 in flight.

Cheers, IAN

When you disasemble the calipers you will know right away if they can
be cleaned up by a light honing. If they can't be cleaned up fitting
s/s sleeves is way beyond the machining capabilities of most. You have
to bore out the caliper so when you press in the sleeve the ID returns
to standard so unless you have a milling machine and a press it is
best to send out to White Post or someone similar. The Delorean
venders can also help you by selling you rebuilt calipers and taking
your old cores, it is faster that way. Since you say you had the car
for 2 years then you are due to change the brake fluid anyway. Just
look at the resovoir and if it is dark and thick it is way past gone.
For the frame just scrape and crack off the loose epoxy, sand the
edges smooth, clean the metal till it is bright and shiny and then
spray with Krylon "Smoke Grey". You can get it in aerosol at Home
Depot. It is a very close match.
