there is a 1/8th inch hard plastic tube that comes out of the left front wall of the engine bay. If you follow this plastic tube, it should bring you to the valve.
There is also a 1/2 to 3/4 inch rubber tube that comes out of the back of the engine (the part facing the front of the car) which also goes to the valve.

I have been concerned that I have put my track rod ends on up side down.
I have them with the nut on the top, In the manual they are on the top,
however I have found other photos of D's with them this way up.
Now, when the lowered springs are put on the front the steering is alot
lighter as the angle between the rack and track rod is reduced. If the track
rod end were put on this way up it would be even less.....
Any comments??

The photos shows it upside down. It seems like a nice idea (and would
sure make them easier to install and replace!) but the hole in the
knuckle is tapered for insertion from the bottom. This would take
some machine work.

002981 has the nuts on the top and the rod ends angle down when the
suspension is loaded. It looks like the rod ends would be horizontal if the
brackets were swapped side to side.

Exhausts,
We all know how awful the original DeLorean "stock" exhaust system is, cast
iron manifolds, pointing "backwards" going around the back of the engine (
warming all sorts of pipes and wires up) and joining up and going through an
( in the UK) unnecessary cat, finally going through a silencer box that has
a LOT of back pressure. It was of course intended to meet strict USA
legislation, but it did restrict, considerably the power of the car.
Martin Gutkowski recently talked to a specialist exhaust firm in Nottingham,
who do custom Stainless Steel , free-flow Exhausts.
In late August this year my "Delores" the RHD test vehicle went up for some
trial work.
Delores ,being a UK car had never been fitted with a cat, so was already
better than most, however , the rest of the standard system was still in
place.
We deicide the finished system should look "stock" from the back, the
silencer was modelled exactly on the original, using the original fixings
and mounting brackets. The internals however are a different matter! The
manifolds are custom made in stainless, mini banana , three-into-one
affairs, facing the silencer. There are then two "bolt in" intermediate
pipes joining to each side of the silencer. These two pipes can either be
plain, or have cats fitted.
The internals of the silencer can be custom made, depending on what exhaust
note you would like. The one I went for on Delores, is "medium noisy", about
105 decibels, you can certainly hear it in the car, buts it does sound very
racy! Mine is an Auto, so I tend to keep it in first gear when driving
around town, the noise really comes in between 3 and 6 k revs! I've turned
into a 50 year old + boy racer!
Mark Bourne has been "re-commissioning my "as new" 111 mile 1983 car. I
decided to have a "extra special" system all polished and very noisy.
Lefty is being converted by our own expert tin basher, Chris Nicholson, into
a full BTTF show car. I wanted something extra noisy making for that!
You will of course remember the bit in the film where the BTTF car backs out
of the van and revs up. Well there is some debate as to whether the sound
was real or dubbed in. Ask Mark Bourne's neighbours, who have to put up
with the sound each time he backs Lefty out of his garage!!!!
Dyno tests show about a 20% increase in power.

The start time for the Third annual DeLorean Fall Foliage Tour will
be 12:00p.m. sharp at the DeLorean mansion, Saturday, October 19,2002
If you arrive before then, please do not enter the grounds until
12:00!
There is a Presbyterian Church and a small white schoolhouse about a
quarter mile west of Lamination
Farms. If you get there early, I would encourage people to meet at
one of these locations.
Note: This is a small town with rich people and it's own police
force!I did not arrange parking privileges at these two
locations but I would think that we should not have
a problem parking there. We are highly visible in our DeLoreans-
please use common sense and courtesy and be respectful if you
use the parking lots.
Remember part of what this tour is all about is showing our cars in a
positive way to the public!
OK, more important news and details about the mansion times and the
tour- please read!
The JZD Mansion has been sold to Donald Trump.
Ed (the caretaker) told us we still have access to the property but
there have been some changes.
1. We don't want cars entering the grounds (unless you are
helping
with the set up) until 12:00
2. Unfortunately we may not have access to the mansion itself.
3. Be aware, we probably will not have access to a bathroom and
there is not much around the mansion in the way of food or public
toilets.
4. There is a major event (steeplechase I think) that will attract
around 90,000 people to this general area creating some potential
traffic problems in the area later that day.
I will be posting the full itinerary soon but as far as the mansion
goes, this is how we will most likely proceed.
People enter the grounds at 12:00 and the cars are parked in front of
the mansion and positioned for picture taking etc. If the weather
holds out and we have bathroom facilities, we will have Rob Grady
inspecting DeLoreans and David Tietelbaum will give a course in
detailing a DeLorean!
We may just do the photo shoot and a quick tour of the mansion
grounds and then caravan to the hotel to do the car inspections and
detailing. By 1:00 we may be getting the group together for the
caravan to the hotel.
For those of you good in math, you may have realized that we may only
be at the JZD Mansion for 1 hour.
Now consider this.
THIS WILL PROBABLY BE THE LAST TIME ANY DELOREANS NO LESS A GROUP OF
DELOREANS WILL EVER HAVE ACCESS TO THIS PROPERTY!
If you ever wanted to see the DeLorean mansion or have your car there
for a picture, this will most likely be the last time you will ever
have the opportunity for this to happen!

Subject: Window Switches
I have the problem of my window switches and my defrost switch not sitting in the correct position in the center consule. I can't seem to get them all level, the mass of wires running under the center consule always gets in the way. Whats the best way to make them all sit at the same level?
Also, my window switches frequently stop working, until i clean the contacts, then they start working again. What is the best way to clean the contacts so that they function for a while?
