We were going to sell the "D", but there was a reason unknown to us
at the time for keeping it--his name is Will--a young man of 14 years
with an amazing attitude for what he is experiencing, and a great
zest for life--and an immense love of automobiles--the DeLorean is at
the TOP OF THE LIST!--through a friend we heard about Will and his
illness--yesterday we drove to his home. His bedroom was filled with
pictures, models, and posters of cars, but it was obvious the
DeLorean was his favorite. We handed over the keys to Dave, who owns
a car restoration business, who had befriended Will--giving him rides
in vintage sports cars, Mercedes, BMWs, Spiders--but what Will really
wanted was to ride in a DeLorean. Through our mutual friend Dave
heard about our car and contacted us. The look on Will's face when he
saw the car words cannot describe--he just lit up !! The video
camera was rolling and people were taking pictures. His parents
helped him into the car and he and Dave, with Will's father and
Will,s younger brother, Matt, following behind in Dave's Alfa R.,
went for a drive. A wonderful experience we were so happy to have
provided for him; an incredible, delightful young man and a family
with an abundance of love and an astounding attitude. We thank the
Haskills and Dave for the experience to last a lifetime!

I had a few removed from my car by a "paintless" ding removal person.
They did a great job. Ended up not getting one dent removed because it
would have meant removing the fender (and it's a pretty minor ding.)
I would imagine once I shine up the car you won't be able to tell anything
was done.

I would imagine the only caveat is that you could get a person that really
doesn't know what they are doing. (I was comfortable because my family
has been in auto-body repair for 30+ years, and this fellow had done lots
of work for our shop.)

Several days ago, I started a thread about the Warm-up Regulator. Does
anyone know that part number for this item?

The Washington, DC DeLorean event will coincide with the Bowie British car

show.

I am wrapping up the final plans for the Bowie show and the Tucker
collection. I'm trying to make hotel arrangements for those of you
planning
to attend both events.

The Tucker car collection is scheduled for Saturday, June 23, 2001.
We can tour the collection and his "train set" in the afternoon. We will
follow up with a tour of Washington, DC and dinner in Georgetown. (with
plenty of parking)
(( Please email me with your suggestion of what you wany for dinner so
that I
can make reservations ))

Bring your Cameras!

For those planning to drive their DeLorean, make sure that you cooling

systems are free of air & up to date.
The Bowie show is scheduled for Sunday, June 24, 2001, at Allen's Pond

Park. The fields open at 8:00am.
All car must be pre-registered. They will not allow anyone to pay at the
gate. The field has been limited to just 400 cars. Since we had close to
1000
cars before, the preregistrations are filling up fast.

Subject: Fuel Tanks

For Eurofest attendee's,

Along with our other DeLorean parts, we have a large quantity of "New Old
Stock" Gas ( petrol) tanks..I know they are a bit bulky, but we could take
a few to Eurofest...they do not have the baffles or senders, but are new,
with all the blanking bungs in place...email me privately if you want one
bringing..they are cheap!!!!

Subject: Re: Gas Tank Fixes

The use of a straight fuel line hose in the gas tank for the fuel
pick up line is not recommended. Because the hose needs to bent at
certain points this will cause a restriction. Even though the hose
does not seem kinked, it will over time. Heat and just the plain Fuel
itself will normally soften the hose a little which will cause it to
kink if it is bent when it's not made to bend. Another example would
be cooling lines. If you took a straight coolant line and bent it
into position, it looks like it will work. Put a few miles on it with
the heat and fluids and you'll see the line will start to kink at the
bend and restrict the flow of coolant...that's why there are pre-
fabricated bent hoses.

It's recommended to use the pre-fabricated bent fuel pick up hoses
that the Delorean vendors carry. When it is installed it will
naturally lay in position with all of the bends in its proper
determined place. They are new...not NOS and are also extremely
durable. I believe Rob has spent about 3 or more years researching
the different materials that submersible fuel lines are made of and
found an extremely long lasting durable one. Most lines after being
put into a tank full of gas will either dry out and crack or soften
too much where it will collapse. The one that Rob has found has not
experienced either problem.
